Resident Evil: The Final Chapter Milla Jovovich

Yesterday, we shared a promotional featurette for RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER that focused on the character Abigail, played by Ruby Rose. Today, we have a new clip from the film that drops Abigail and her fellow zombie fighters – including Milla Jovovich as franchise heroine Alice – into a dire situation involving a large fan turbine.

A second new clip proves true a tagline for the movie, which (as the subtitle indicates) is meant to be the last installment in the RESIDENT EVIL series: "This January, it ends where it all began." In this clip we see Alice heading toward the bomb crater that used to be Raccoon City, the setting of the first two movies. There's a reference to The Hive, the underground research facility where the apocalypse began, and even an appearance by the Red Queen, the Artificial Intelligence hologram that controlled The Hive.

What's most interesting about the Red Queen's return is the fact that she's now played by Ever Gabo Anderson, the daughter of Jovovich and writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson. Jovovich recently made a sweet post on Instagram praising the layered performance their daughter delivered.

Picking up where RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION left off, THE FINAL CHAPTER

finds humanity is on its last legs. Alice must return to Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is preparing for a final strike against the survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Jovovich, Rose, and Anderson's co-stars include Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, Rola, and Lee Joon-gi.

The film is set to reach theatres on January 27th.
