Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant gets a plot synopsis and release date!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It would appear as though Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS follow-up has undergone another title change. After being referred to as ALIEN: PARADISE LOST for a little while, word began surfacing this past weekend that it would now be called ALIEN: COVENANT. We can confirm this is true, because we just received a press release announcing both that title, the release date and the plot synopsis!

Here’s the plot – SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

So it seems Dr. Shaw – played by Noomi Rapace – is no longer a factor in the new prequel trilogy. Or are they just misleading us? In any event, we now have some solid info to go on as we hurtle toward ALIEN: COVENANT, which lands a little over two years from now! Check out the title treatment below.

ALIEN: COVENANT will be released October 6, 2017.
