RIP: Hazel Court

Apr. 18, 2008by: Ammon Gilbert
While she may not be a Scream Queen of our generation, Hazel Court was one of the Scream Queens of the 50s and 60s, starring in such films as THE RAVEN, THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, and DEVIL GIRL FROM MARS (among others). Unfortunately for fans of classic horror, Court passed away early Tuesday of a heart attack at the age of 82.

She starred alongside the likes of Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, and Peter Lorre, and worked with directors such as Roger Corman, relying on her talent to scream with the best of them, look scared out of her mind, and boost her cleavage to the next level. Yes folks, she may have been one of the 'godfathers' of the Scream Queen persona--which has kept horror fans coming back for more generation after generation.

It's always sad to hear of the passing of Hollywood star of yesteryear, but especially when they've met so much to the genre. For more information regarding her life, click HERE, and celebrate her memory by catching one of her flicks on the small screen over the weekend. DEVIL GIRL FROM MARS, here I come!
