Rise of the Planet of the Apes scribes hint at where they’re headed with the sequel

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I’m not going to lie, I’ve yet to see Rupert Wyatt’s RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Not for lack of interest though. For the most part the thing scored some pretty positive feedback while in theaters so needless to say it’s at the top of my ‘must rent’ list, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

But I’m not here to talk about RISE, oh no. Instead it seems we’ve got a small update concerning it’s sequel! You see The Q&A Podcast with Jeff Goldsmith recently had a chance to chat with RISE scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. As you may have guessed, the proposed sequel to RISE was quickly brought up and the writers decided to share a little bit with the listeners. Check it:

“We’re working on the sequel right now, to the prequel, and so the excitement is – I’m not gonna tell you, but – are they gonna talk or not? Part of the challenge was how to get across what was happening between the apes without words. In the end I think it was a good challenge for us. It created better storytelling.”

Now I know it’s not a whole lot to go on but it’s kind of cool to see what direction the writers are heading with the sequel. Will we see the Apes begin to speak? Looks like it! You can bet we’ll keep you updated with every piece of news that comes our way on this untilted APES sequel so be sure to check back soon for more.
