Rob Zombie shares new image from 31 as filming wraps

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Halloween has come to an end – at least as far as filming on 31 is concerned. Rob Zombie, via Facebook, announced production would wrap on his latest thriller today, Monday, April 6th. Now begins the post-production process; will Zombie get the film in shape and find a distributor in time to land 31 in theaters (or on VOD) in time for Halloween? Should be interesting to find out.

To celebrate the end of shooting, Zombie has shared another still from the flick, this one showing us Jeff Daniel Phillips’ character chillin’ at a gas station. His character has been described as an “ass-kickin’ carny mechanic.” You’ll notice that the image has a distinct DEVIL’S REJECTS vibe, which bodes well for the film if you ask me. Five random people are kidnapped on the five days leading up to Halloween and held hostage in a place called Murder World. While trapped inside this man-made Hell they must fight to survive playing the most violent game known to man… a game called 31.

31 has no rules. 31 has no boundaries. It is ever so simple. Do whatever you can do to kill your opponent before they kill you. Keep this up for 12 hours and freedom is yours. Who are the opponents? Well… a group of vile, filthy, blood-thirsty clowns known as THE HEADS. They come in all shapes and sizes and each grows nastier than the last.

Phillips is joined by Sheri Moon Zombie, Malcolm McDowell, Lew Temple, Richard Brake, Daniel Roebuck, E.G. Daily, Judy Geeson, Jane Carr, David Ury, Torsten Voges, and Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs in Zombie’s film.
