Robert Patrick returns to True Blood as series regular

Alcide’s pop is coming back for more! The great Robert Patrick will return for the sixth season of HBO’s consistently successful vampire show “True Blood.”

According to Deadline.com, Patrick will be a series regular in the new chapter after appearing on a three-episode arc this past summer. He plays the father of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello), Jackson Herveaux.

Patrick has also been starring in ABC’s thriller “Last Resort,” but at the moment it doesn’t look like that will return for a second season. Patrick has wisely hedged his bets and signed on to the much more stable “True Blood.” (Well, “stable” depending on how you define the word.)

“True Blood” returns to HBO in the summer.
