Earlier this week filmmaker Ron Howard took the opportunity to talk about his upcoming opus THE DARK TOWER. Well it seems Howard wasn't done!

It only took a couple days and here we are telling you about Howard's new chat with the LA Times. What does the talented filmmaker spill on in this new interview? Why a mess of things of course, but most importantly some potential actors that we may be seeing join him on this epic adventure.

Alright to be fair Howard never really hints at any of these names... but he doesn't scoff at them either. It seems formidable choices for THE DARK TOWER's 'Roland Deschain' would include Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman, Jon Hamm and Viggo Mortensen. As you can see we've got ourselves a pretty impressive list that is most likely a win whichever way Howard and company decide to go. Then again it can be someone completely different... Only time will tell. In the meantime scope out a bit of Howard's most recent interview with the LA Times:

I really cant stop thinking about it. Weve been meeting and talking and Ive been reading and researching and just kind of living with it. Ive been constantly going through stuff and Ive just been re-listening to it [on audio books] on my iPod and weve been sending e-mails back and forth, What about this approach? What do you think of this idea? Were finding the shape of it. Were moving quickly now, as quickly as we can, and I feel challenged in the most exciting ways.

To check out the whole article, which is definitely worth a look if you're into this whole thing, head right over HERE. Plans are for THE DARK TOWER to hit theaters sometime in 2013 so hold on to your horses folks, we've got a ways to go!

Extra Tidbit: Daniel Craig can next be seen in Jon Favreau's COWBOYS & ALIENS alongside Olivia Wilde (above).

I love the books, but the story does get really convoluted toward the end. especially when Stephen King himself shows up. Will he play himself? Something tells me these movies won't follow the books too closely. And I really hope the TV portion of the story is not on ABC and instead on HBO or Showtime where we can see the violence and adult situations.

i really hope this whole thing goes down. if it works out it could set a new precedent for bringing books into meatspace. fwiw Viggo would make a badass Roland. that would be fucking stellar.
