Scary Movie 5 gets a trailer and A Haunted House has a holiday TV spot

Dec. 27, 2012by: Ike Oden

Marketing for SCARY MOVIE 5 and A HAUNTED HOUSE is ramping up, which means we've finally got a trailer for the former and a holiday themed TV spot for the latter. I've put them back to back so you can enjoy the, ahem, "humor" in one easy to digest package. Now, now, don't all of you go thanking me at the same time.

Neither looks like a comedy classic, but I've gotta say A HAUNTED HOUSE seems like the winner of the two. Not only is it the brainchild of SCARY MOVIE franchise co-creator Marlon Wayans, it has the strength of looking like an actual horror movie parody, rather than simply a string of bad sketches threaded together with even worse celebrity cameos (seriously, Madea? WTF?!).

I could launch into a tangent against this brand of horror-comedy that could last all day, but that would be about as efficient as yelling at a cloud. Instead I'll wrap this up by telling you A HAUNTED HOUSE hits theaters January 11th. It stars the aforementioned Wayans, Essence Atkins, Nick Swardson, Alanna Ubach and David Koechner. SCARY MOVIE 5 will be out April 12th. It stars Ashley Tisdale, Kate Walsh, Terry Crews, Jerry O'Connell, Katt Williams, and Molly Shannon. Enjoy(?) the videos below.

Extra Tidbit: Lindsay Lohan's also making a SCARY MOVIE 5 cameo, but you knew that already, didn't you? Check her out above pre-burnout.

I'm sorry, but "A Haunted House" looks like an aggravating piece of sh*t. The TV spots and trailers are not only totally unfunny, but irritating. The trailer for "Scary Movie 5" at least got a few cheap, silly laughs from me. Not to mention, "House" has an obnoxious cast and jokes, while "Scary Movie" will play into the typical "Scary Movie" formula, which has worked so far; while this looks like the worst installment, I thoroughly enjoyed the previous entires...mostly due to the work of Anna
