Scout Taylor-Compton says she'll be in Halloween 3 - would you be down?

05.05.2014by: Eric Walkuski

Hope you've got a grain of salt with you, because you'll definitely need it for this bit of news.

We're all going cuckoo with the revelation that HALLOWEEN 3 is moving forward, even though we have no idea how close it is to actually happening. Certainly, it seems clear it's in the development stage, and it's probable that a writer is on board, but mostly all we can do is speculate as to the details.

And it's not only the horror site writers who are weighing in. Scout Taylor-Compton - who played Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's two HALLOWEEN films - took to her Twitter to claim she'll be returning for the third go-round.

Do with that what you will. Is she just assuming she'll be back? Does she have solid intel suggesting she is indeed returning to square off against her bad bro? My gut tells me it's the former, but who knows - maybe Scout has a reliable source. (Hey, perhaps it's Rob Zombie himself!)

But here's what we wanted to ask you, the readers and HALLOWEEN fans: If Scout is indeed returning as Laurie Strode, would you be pleased with the news? Or are you hoping the franchise starts fresh, with either a new actress in the role, or the role dismissed altogether? Weigh in below!

But she was alive at the end of the theatrical cut of "Halloween II", which is what this would naturally follow if they are doing a continuation of the prior films.

POSSIBLE SPOILER

Laurie was set to take over for Michael at the end of Zombie's Halloween II. I want to see a female Halloween slasher. Only so many other films have ever given horror fans a female slasher. Also, the Halloween franchise needs to stay fresh, and it has used experimentation (e.g. Season of the Witch, H2O) over the years to do that. Therefore, Halloween 3 could be a sequel to Halloween II-2009. I would like to see that. I would like to see Taylor-Compton return to deliver another earthy and

I just don't know anymore...

Not a fan of Scout Taylor-Compton, thought she was horrible in both movies. Yet I don't want another remake and if they do continue the story but without her, I hate when major characters are recast (it very rarely works).

Seems like we're in a bit of a damned if we do, damned if we don't scenario...
I just don't know...Obviously I want more Halloween films and more Mikey, but he deserves better.

I haven't seen any of the Halloween movies (I know, I know) but my impression was that Rob Zombie was done with the current Halloween movies. So I guess either he's back on board, they're continuing his storyline with a new director or starting fresh. Either way the 3D covers everything, it can be interpreted as the 3rd contemporary film or just the fact that it's a Halloween film in 3D. Same thing with the last Texas Chainsaw film.

I guess I would be down for this...I just want to see a decent Halloween film as its always been my favorite horror franchise. I agree with skip it below, those animatics from last year with Myers walking around the hospital were great. I would love to see that included in the new film.

Sorry but this news disappoints me

Her Laurie was weak and whiny. I had hopes in H2 it would twist Annie into being the hero. I also had hoped they would take Halloween 3 back more in line with the original series in terms of style and story. While I commend Zombie's movies for being different and not being a rehash they unfortunately never felt like Halloween movies to me. The concept art and animatics that went online about a year or so ago looked perfect. I really hope we get something in line with that but with this news

I'll still catch it at some point.
