Yesterday brought us the latest promo for the upcoming season of NBC's "Hannibal" and today we have something extra special to share with you: the brutal opening fight scene from this Friday's season premiere which features Mads Mikkelson's Dr. Lecter going toe-to-toe and blow-for-blow with Laurence Fishburne's Jack Crawford. Oh, yeah…this is gonna be one hell of an intense season.

The clip below is actually a 'flash-forward', actually taking place later in the second season timeline, but instantly sets up a sense of tension about how the story is going to develop. How did Crawford and Lecter get to this point? Guess you'll have to tune in to find out.

"Hannibal" ep. 2×01 'Kaiseki'

With Will still in custody for the murder of Abigail, Dr. Lecter steps in to help when bodies wash up on a riverbank. The big question is whether or not Dr. Bloom will be able to help Will regain his memories.

The series stars Hugh Dancy as expert criminal profiler Will Graham, who has a unique ability to peer into the mind of serial killers. Mads Mikkelsen stars as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a psychiatrist who is helping with the cases… also a serial killer himself. Laurence Fishburne stars as Jack Crawford, the head of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit. Gillian Anderson, Scott Thompson, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Caroline Dhavernas and Hettienne Park also co-star.

"Hannibal" returns on February 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
