Seth Grahame-Smith offers updates on Unholy Night, Night of the Living and Beetlejuice 2

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Seth Grahame-Smith is a busy man. The author-screenwriter has essentially been working nonstop since his novel PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES caused a scene on bookshelves back in 2009. Since then, he’s written ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER (both book and script), DARK SHADOWS, the MTV sitcom “The Hard Times of RJ Berger”, and another book, a comedy-horror titled UNHOLY NIGHT, which incidentally comes out this week.

It was while promoting this book, which sees the Three Wise Men help Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus escape the clutches of Pontius Pilate, while encountering supernatural things along the way, that Grahame-Smith got to talking about his future projects with The Hollywood Reporter. Here’s some of what he had to say:

– UNHOLY NIGHT was optioned by HARRY POTTER producer David Heyman; Grahame-Smith plans to adapt it after he’s done with his next script, which is…

NIGHT OF THE LIVING, a stop-motion horror-comedy for (of course) Tim Burton. Story centers on a town of peaceful monsters who must learn how to fight when it is invaded by humans.

– Also with Burton is BEETLEJUICE 2, which Grahame-Smith was hired to pen last year. He offers that the sequel will come after UNHOLY NIGHT is finished, which likely won’t happen until later this year.
