Sharon Stone tries casual cannibalism in Creep director’s Corporate Animals

Sharon Stone Running Wild

CREEP and CREEP 2 director Patrick Brice is currently assembling the cast for his new film, a "hilarious and sometimes shocking" project titled CORPORATE ANIMALS. Sharon Stone has signed on to star as

Lucy, the egotistical megalomaniac CEO of Incredible Edibles, America’s premier provider of edible cutlery.

In her infinite wisdom, Lucy leads her staff including her long-suffering assistants, Freddie and Jess, on a corporate team-building caving weekend to New Mexico. When disaster strikes, not even their useless guide, Brandon, can save them. Trapped underground by a cave-in, this mismatched and disgruntled group must pull together in order to survive. Amidst sexual tension, startling business revelations and casual cannibalism, Freddie and Jess emerge from Lucy’s shadow.

Also in the cast with Stone, so far, are Jessica Williams as Lucy's assistant Jess and Ed Helms as the useless guide Brandon.

Helms is also producing the film alongside Mike Falbo, Keith Calder, and Jess Calder. Sam Bain wrote the screenplay.

While UTA and ICM Partners represent the rights in North America, Protagonist Pictures is presenting the film to potential international distributors at the Cannes Film Festival. Protagonist CEO Dave Bishop says CORPORATE ANIMALS is

one of the funniest scripts we’ve seen and actually a little close to the bone at times. This is not so much a reference to the occasional bit of cannibalism and more the office politics of a small business! Suffice to say, everyone at Protagonist loved it, it’s tremendous fun and we think buyers will find it just as hilarious as we did.”

I enjoyed the CREEP movies (and Brice's sex comedy THE OVERNIGHT), so I'm interested to see what the director will do with this dark comedy material – and to see how the acts of cannibalism will be handled in the movie.

CORPORATE ANIMALS will be filming in New Mexico this summer.
