A new face joins AMC’s anticipated new series Fear the Walking Dead, as Deadline reports that THE FACULTY star Shawn Hatosy has joined the companion series, playing a well-intentioned but out of his element military man with a soulful disposition. Sounds like soon-to-be zombie meat to me, but we’ll see!

The new series also stars Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, and Alycia Debnam Carey. Fear the Walking Dead will take place far away from the Atlanta, Georgia setting of “The Walking Dead” in the streets of Los Angeles, amid the early days of the infection.

Series creator Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are executive producers of the new series, which is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (“Marco Polo,” “Sons of Anarchy”), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner. Adam Davidson will direct the pilot episode.

A second season is already planned and will air sometime in 2016.
