Sly and Arnie have an Escape Plan from The Tomb; new release date

If you've been foaming at the mouth, eagerly awaiting news on the Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring THE TOMB, then today is your day as we have two bits of news to share with ya concering the flick.

First off is the news that the Mikael Håfström-helmed flick has undergone a title change, dumping the badass title THE TOMB in exchange for the more generic sounding ESCAPE PLAN. I mean, it's not a bad title as it lets you know exactly what to expect, but THE TOMB just seemed to work better for me.

The other bit of news regarding THE TOMB...er, I mean ESCAPE PLAN, is that the films release date has been bumped up two weeks earlier, hitting cinemas on September 13, 2013.

ESCAPE PLAN follows Ray Breslin (Stallone), the world’s foremost authority on structural and prison security. After being framed by persons unknown, Breslin must escape from a high-tech prison facility that’s design is based on his own protocols. On the inside Breslin meets Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger), an inmate who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity as they struggle together to stay alive.

ESCAPE PLAN also stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Sam Neill, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Jim Caviezel and Vinnie Jones.

Extra Tidbit: Which title do you prefer: THE TOMB or ESCAPE PLAN?

yeah well....

THE TOMB is badass BUT it'll confuse everybody... they know what tombs are... and this being a prison break out movie would confuse a lot of theater goers... so.... yeah Escape Plan... ok whatever... ARNOLD, just make GOOD movies, ok? sheesh...thats all we really want from you.

Busy day

September 13th is gonna be a busy weekend with MACHETE KILLS, INSIDIOUS 2, and now ESCAPE PLAN all posed to hit that same day. Something tells me MACHETE KILLS will move now, as I don't think it can go up against Arnie and Sly.

Even so, while I look forward to all of them, MACHETE KILLS is my priority. While I wasn't big on the first film, the sequel has one thing every other movie this year doesn't: Mel fucking Gibson!

ET: The Escape Plan works better for me. But, either title works. The Escape Plan is not as bad-ass sounding as The Tomb. However, many movies have already the title The Tomb. Escape Plan is more distinct perhaps. I shall see the film either way. The cast impresses a person.

I prefer "Exit Strategy". it's a little pun intended 80s style!
