Sony Pictures has just nailed the rights to THE BRINGING, a horror spec script written by Brandon and Phillip Murphy and based on an actual place and series of events that will be championed by Michael De Luca, reports Deadline. The actual events that they are referring to is the mysterious death of Elisa Lam, a woman who was found dead in the water tanks on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. The story surrounding this entire event is about as creepy as real life can get. Her body was found two weeks after her death, and only because the hotel's guests were starting to complain about the taste and color of the water. Oh, the chills!

The creepiest part of this entire thing? There's actually footage of Lam’s bizarre, inexplicable behavior in an elevator just before her death. It's one of the strangest things I've ever seen and it's quite terrifying knowing that this was her final moments alive. This story has been turned into what they are calling THE BRINGING, which tells the story of the man investigating her death, and the nightmare he stumbles into. I see a hit on their hands with this one. What a story!

The Cecil Hotel is also the place that killers like Richard Ramirez—an American serial killer, rapist, and burglar—called home at one time or another, and where suicides have occurred. Here's the video of Lam’s strange, final moments.

Extra Tidbit: What did you think of the video? Creepy stuff right?

more than likely she took some medication or illegal drugs that didn't agree with her. My wife had a friend at work who took some medication prescribed by her doctor, then she flipped out and grabbed a knife and started ripping apart her neighbors couch. She was a lady who was not prone to violence at all before. Medication can do crazy things to you if your allergic to it.

Such a bizarre thing to watch. We'll never know what really happened to her, but watching that video and knowing its her last few moments is truly disturbing...

Perfect!

This hotel (and its dark history) are perfect for the horror movie treatment. I mean the video and the mystery from last year speak for itself. This one is now officially on my radar! To those of you who know nothing of the hotel do a quick Google search and read some of the strange things that have gone on there since its opening, real creepy stuff!
