Oct. 7, 2011by: Jared Pacheco
You guys remember us telling you about a graphic novel set to hit the big screen called NIGHTFALL? That news came back in August of last year with James Wan tapped to direct the thing. Well we're well over a year later and still no word on this shite... until today that is!

You see the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting just got word that Sony Pictures have snatched up the rights to the vampire-filled graphic novel. So with this new update comes the news that scribe Peter Woodward (UNTHINKABLE) had written the most recent draft of the screenplay and that director James Wan seems to have dropped out of the project. Word has it Uros Stojanovic is set to take his place though no official announcement has been made.

NIGHTFALL follows a man who finds out just how bad life can get when he discovers that the prison he just entered is controlled by vampires.

So there you have it folks. For the third time it seems NIGHTFALL is once again rising from the ashes and trying to make a go of a big screen adaptation. You know what they say, third time's a charm, right? We shall see if Sony Pictures can deliver. Of course we'll be keeping you guys in the know with every piece of NIGHTFALL news we come across so be sure to check back soon for any updates.

UNTHINKABLE's Carrie Anne Moss
Extra Tidbit: No wonder James Wan had to bow out of NIGHTFALL, his upcoming credits, both as director and producer, include SPECTRE, HOUSE OF HORROR, THE CONJURING and CASTELVANIA.
