Sony Pictures Worldwide acquires untitled Michael Cera-Emily Browning thriller

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired the domestic rights to Sebastian Silva’s untitled thriller that will star Michael Cera, Juno Temple (pictured right), Catalina Sandino Moreno and Emily Browning. They’ve also taken the rights for Latin America, Scandinavia, South Africa, Eastern Europe.

When it was initially announced, the film was known as MAGIC, MAGIC, but it looks like somebody soured on that; it’s untitled for now. Shooting begins this spring in Chile.

Sony described the movie, which was also written by Silva, as the chilling story of a young American woman (Temple) vacationing with her friends in a remote part of Chile, who begins to mentally unravel and enters into a world of disturbing landscapes and crushing terror.

Sounds any given weekend at the old Walkuski place!

We’ll keep you updated on this project; hopefully it gets a proper title soon.
