Like it or not, George A. Romero's 1985 classic DAY OF THE DEAD is getting remade again. Yes, even though it was just remade in 2008, a second remake is already in the works.

Hèctor Hernández Vicens will be at the helm of this third version of DAY OF THE DEAD, which has quite an odd plot description:

The post-apocalyptic tale follows a former medical student tormented by a dark figure from her past, who happens to be a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of a "half-human, half zombie". That creature is named Max and will be played by Johnathon Schaech, who recently shared a selfie from the makeup chair. In the background of this selfie, you can see pictures of Schaech's fellow cast members.

Among Schaech's co-stars in the film are Sophie Skelton (pictured above), Marcus Vanco, Jeff Gum, Lorina Kamburova,, Nick Loeb, Rachel O’Meara, Debbie Sherman, Luke Cousins, Nathan Cooper, and Cristina Serafini.

I have to admit, my enthusiasm for this project is as low as that underground bunker in the original DAY, but I would love to be pleasantly surprised by it and will be giving it a chance.
