Stephen King’s The Dark Tower TV series starts shooting this summer?

The last word we brought you guys on the planned DARK TOWER TV series was when we let you know that even star Idris Elba had no idea what was going on with the series.

Today we have a bit more to go on (maybe) as Omega Underground is reporting that shooting on the Stephen King series is "expected to begin sometime this summer in both Ireland and the United Kingdom."

This is all still merely a rumor at this point in time, but it makes me super excited to know that the series just might be moving forward as THE DARK TOWER is better suited for TV in the first place.

THE DARK TOWER synopsis:

Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O'Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.
