Suspiria remake is nearly 3 hours long?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Let me start this off by saying that you may need to take this post with an extra big grain of salt.

The news comes to us from a site I was not familiar with and with a little fact-checking, it seems that the site has somewhat the reputation of rumors. But all of that out of the way, today we have some very interesting news that the upcoming remake of Dario Argento's classic SUSPIRIA is going to be almost 3 hours long!

Crazy, right? For those not keeping up with the math so good off the top of your head, Argento's original film ran a tight 98 minutes, which equals 1 hr. and 38 mins., where this new version would be topping out at a whopping 150 mins. Aka 2 1/2 hrs. with credits.

Again, this may not be true, but at the same time movies seem to have just been getting longer and longer these days, with flicks like TRANSFORMERS 4: HEY MARK WAHLBERG'S IN THIS ONE running 2hrs and 45mins. Granted this film is not directed by Michael Bay and not a summer tentpole, but if mainstream audiences can sit through 3 hrs of sensory overload, then we can sit through Amazon streaming for just as long.

I am making it a new goal of mine to stay as on top of this (possible) rumor as close as I can and I will make sure to hit you guys up as soon as I hear confirmation one way or the other. Until then let us know what you think of an almost 3 hr. SUPSPIRIA remake on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

SUSPIRIA (Remake) synopsis:

Susie Bannion, a young American woman, travels to the prestigious Markos Tanz Company in Berlin in the year 1977. She arrives just as one of the Company’s members, Patricia, has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. As Susie makes extraordinary progress under the guidance of Madame Blanc, the Company’s revolutionary artistic director, she befriends another dancer, Sara, who shares her suspicions that the Matrons, and the Company itself, may be harboring a dark and menacing secret.

SUSPIRIA stars Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Mia Goth, Chloë Grace Moretz, Lutz Ebersdorf, and star of the original, Jessica Harper.
