Sylvester Stallone Escape Plan

Director Steven C. Miller's ESCAPE PLAN 2: HADES hasn't even been released yet, in fact they haven't announced a release date for it, but that's not stopping the producers from moving forward with another entry in the Sylvester Stallone franchise. A third ESCAPE PLAN isn't just in the development stage, either. Titled ESCAPE PLAN 3: DEVIL'S STATION, it already started filming this week with John Herzfeld directing.

Stallone teamed up with fellow action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger in the first ESCAPE PLAN, which was released back in 2013. His co-stars in ESCAPE PLAN 3 include Dave Bautista, Jaime King, and Lydia Hull, who are returning from previous ESCAPE PLAN films, along with new additions Max Zhang, Harry Shum Jr., Malese Jow, and FINAL DESTINATION's Devon Sawa.

Miles Chapman came up with the original story idea for ESCAPE PLAN and wrote the screenplay with Jason Keller. He returned to write ESCAPE PLAN 2: HADES, and has also written the ESCAPE PLAN 3: DEVIL'S STATION script with Herzfeld.

The official synopsis:

Ray Breslin (Stallone) and Trent DeRosa (Bautista) must join forces again in order to rescue one of their team members who is held captive at the penitentiary known as Devil’s Station, a prison where no one ever gets out.

Lionsgate will be releasing the film, which is being produced by Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett / Furla Oasis, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment, Zach Schiller of Boles / Schiller Film Group, Jie Qiu, and Echo Su. Ted Fox and Mark Stewart are executive producing with Grindstone's Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb and The Fyzz Facility's Robert Jones and Wayne Marc Godfrey. Leomus is co-financing, as they have done on all of the ESCAPE PLAN films.

Filming on ESCAPE PLAN 3 is currently taking place at the old Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio, which has served as a filming location for several movies over the years, including THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. Stallone has been there before, for TANGO & CASH.

This is just to clarify things… Escape plan 2 has not come out yet, but we are working on the next installment.
