Telltale’s The Walking Dead hits store shelves this month

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Telltale Games’ THE WALKING DEAD has been a bit overshadowed by announcements about THE WALKING DEAD: SURVIVAL INSTINCT and the popularity of THE WALKING DEAD: ASSAULT. Hence this enthusiastic reminder that Telltale is releasing the entire season in disc format on December 11, 2012.

THE WALKING DEAD, which was previously only available via download, will be available on X-Box 360, PS3 and PC. The critically acclaimed adventure game will also get a various special edition packages. As detailed in the press release:

There are just a few days left to pre-order strictly limited Collector’s Edition bundle for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ( suggested price of $69.99) exclusively from Gamestop. It includes an exclusive edition of The Walking Dead Compendium One: over 1,000 pages of Robert Kirkman’s original comic book, collecting the first 48 issues of Rick Grimes’ story. Best Buy stores will have a Limited Edition cover variant for all platforms, along with an exclusive poster insert. Best Buy is also the only place you can buy the game on disc for PC.

If you’re a WALKING DEAD completist and you haven’t downloaded all the episodes individually, snagging a copy on disc seems like a no-brainer. Telltale has had a string of awesome adventure game tie-ins and THE WALKING DEAD may have refined their formula to near-perfection. But, you know, with zombies. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a BACK TO THE FUTURE episode that’s gathering dust on my iPad…
