Terminator: Genesis eyes Jason Clarke for John Connor role

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

More and more info on TERMINATOR: GENESIS (the rumored title for THE TERMINATOR reboot) is marching in; more specifically, who the producers are looking to cast. Many names have cropped up in regards to the Sarah Connor role (the most recent being Tatiana Maslany), and now a new one has arrived for the John Connor character: Jason Clarke.

Deadline reports that Clarke is in “early talks” to play the Connor role. No telling how close he is to actually nabbing it, but pre-production is moving along swiftly on this one, so all will be revealed soon.

Clarke has had a breakout year: he starred in ZERO DARK THIRTY, WHITE HOUSE DOWN and THE GREAT GATSBY in 2013, and will be seen fighting for the humans in next summer’s DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The actor hails from Australia (don’t they all?) and has also been seen in PUBLIC ENEMIES, DEATH RACE and LAWLESS.

TERMINATOR: GENESIS is being directed by Alan Taylor and has scheduled a July 1, 2015 release date.
