First it was TEXAS KILLING FIELDS, then it was simply THE FIELDS, and now it's TEXAS KILLING FIELDS again. Whatever you want to call it, the serial killer flick stars Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jessica Chastain, Chloë Grace Moretz & Jason Clarke and was directed by Michael Mann's daughter, Ami Canaan Mann. Poppa Michael also produced. This is a really interesting group, so let's but a spotlight on this flick.
A long synopsis has been released for TEXAS KILLING FIELDS, as well as a new release date, make that month, of OCTOBER. (No date has been specified; the film was originally scheduled to come out this July.)
Inspired by true events, this tense and haunting thriller follows a local homicide detective (Sam Worthington) in a small Texan town and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims’ mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call “The Killing Fields”.
The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl, Anne (Chloe Grace Moretz) goes missing the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find the killer and save her life.
Definitely intrigued by this one; we should have more to share from it as we march toward its October release.
