The ABC’s of Death is getting a sequel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Did you get a chance to get schooled with THE ABC's OF DEATH, the fun but uneven 26-part anthology that showcased death in all its vicious wonder and brutal beauty? It was an ambitious film that featured segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film, including Ti West, Ben Wheatley, Adam Wingard, Angela Bettis and many others. It will soon be time to return to your studies as Magnet Films, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, is teaming up with Timpson Films and Drafthouse Films to bring us THE ABC'S OF DEATH 2, scheduled to hit us next year.

Variety is reporting that the producers of the original film just announced the plans for the sequel at Cannes, and has signed on a number of directors including Alex de la Iglesia (THE LAST CIRCUS), Rodney Ascher (ROOM 237) and animator Bill Plympton. And, like they did with the original, producers will hold a director’s competition this summer to include one additional filmmaker.

Producer Ant Timpson has high hopes for the sequel, stating…

This time around we’re all determined to expand the concept to even more hyperkinetic, comically deranged and mortally dizzying heights of how someone can shuffle off this mortal coil."

I'm up for another go-around with THE ABC'S OF DEATH!

The sequel will be produced by Timpson along with Tim League in conjunction with Todd Brown, Marc Walkow, Mitch Davis and Ted Geoghegan. We'll keep you posted on news regarding THE ABC'S OF DEATH 2 as it comes our way!
