Well folks after what seemed like a long-ass time Rob Zombie’s LORDS OF SALEM has finally started casting recently and thanks to Zombie’s Facebook page we’ve got word on who the latest member of the team is. Here’s Zombie’s post regarding the casting:
Alright more casting news! TORSTEN VOGES has joined the cast of THE LORDS OF SALEM as COUNT GORGANN lead singer of the Norwegian death metal band LEVIATHAN THE FLEEING SERPENT.
Torsten is best know for his turns in Joel Schumacher’s 8MM and the cult classic Coen Brother’s film THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Most recently Torsten appeared along side Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan as Dr. Lars in Judd Apatow’s FUNNY PEOPLE.
And there you have it. Now I don’t recall Voges from 8MM or THE BIG LEBOWSKI but I definitely remember him from FUNNY PEOPLE. “How’d it feel dying at the end of DIE HARD?” Ha… good times. Anyway it seems Voges will fit right in a Zombie flick like LORDS OF SALEM so I’m down for this casting. How about you guys? You digging the way this thing has been cast thus far? Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the “Big H Radio Team”.
A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, “a gift from the Lords”. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords’ record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.
Later Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.
The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H Team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting: the original Lords of Salem are returning, and they’re out for BLOOD.
Along with Voges it’s also been announced that the film will star Jeff Daniel Phillips, Meg Foster and Ernest Thomas. Curiously enough Zombie’s wife Sherri Moon Zombie (below) hasn’t officially been announced as part of the LORDS OF SALEM cast yet. Think it’s possible Zombie will leave her out of this one?
In any case you can bet we’ll be sitting right here waiting for more LORDS OF SALEM updates to come our way as this thing kicks into production so be sure to check back soon for more news as we hear it.
