Production has begun on the PET SEMATARY remake being directed by STARRY EYES duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, and with cameras rolling we now know the names of each actor who will be playing the members of the doomed Creed family.

It had previously been announced that Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz would be playing parents Louis and Rachel. Joining them are three-year-old twins Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie, who will be sharing the role of their toddler Gage, "who is prone to wandering into trouble", and ten-year-old actress Jeté Laurence, who will be playing their daughter Ellie, "a sweet and sensitive young girl who adores her cat Winston Churchill, or Church for short, and wins over the heart of the old-timer who lives next door."

That old timer, Jud Crandall, is being played by John Lithgow.

PET SEMATARY will mark the screen debut of the Lavoie brothers, whose parents learned about the audition through Facebook… If they were familiar with the 1989 version of PET SEMATARY (pictured above), it had to be really cool to realize they had the chance to have their toddlers audition for the role of Gage Creed.

Despite her young age, Laurence already has more than a dozen credits to her name, including roles in THE SNOWMAN and THE RANGER.

This new adaptation of the Stephen King novel was written by Jeff Buhler and follows

Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.

Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, and Steven Schneider, PET SEMATARY is set to reach theatres on April 5, 2019.
