The Dark Crystal Returns to Theaters February 2018

I'm going to be honest with you guys here and say that I am not a fan of THE DARK CRYSTAL. Again, just being honest. Personally, I find it to be an extremely off-putting movie. It's those damn Skeksis.

That said I can wholly appreciate the amazing work the Henson company put into the film. Yes, even I find the film visually stunning. And it is with this in mind that we wanted to let you guys know that a newly restored in 4K (at select theaters) special two-night presentation screening of THE DARK CRYSTAL will be hitting screens soon.

Tickets can be purchased beginning Friday, January 12 at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. A complete list of theaters will be available January 12 on the Fathom Events website.

Are you excited to see Jim Henson and Fran Oz's THE DARK CRYSTAL on the big screen? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!

THE DARK CRYSTAL synopsis:

Jen (Stephen Garlick), raised by the noble race called the Mystics, has been told that he is the last survivor of his own race, the Gelflings. He sets out to try to find a shard of the dark crystal, a powerful gem that once provided balance to the universe. After the crystal was broken, the evil Skeksis used sinister means to gain control. Jen believes that he can repair the dark crystal and bring peace back to the world, if he can only find the remaining shard.

The film was co-directed by Henson and Frank Oz from a screenplay by Dave Odell. The film features performances by Stephen Garlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw, and Percy Edwards, with Henson, Oz and Dave Goelz also performing as the Skeksis.

THE DARK CRYSTAL hits U.S. theaters Sunday, February 25, and Wednesday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time (both days) before hitting on 4K, Blu-ray, and Digital March 6
