The design of the new Godzilla revealed? Take a look for yourself!

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

The fellas over at TwitchFilm got a scoop concerning the above and below images, which may or may not be designs made by Legendary Pictures for the new GODZILLA reboot that was announced two months ago. The source of the pictures is a fellow named WoGzilla, whom it should be noted uploaded these pictures in January. However, Bloody Disgusting was the first to report that a new GODZILLA was being prepped, way back in August of last year. So it’s possible that these are designs for the bad boy. Of course, they could also just be some sculptor’s crack at the famed radioactive monster and nothing more. I have a feeling we’ll get confirmation on one or the other real soon.

In any event, I like it. If this is what the new Godzilla looks like, consider me even more psyched than I already am. What can I say, I’ve got a boner for giant monster movies – and there’s no way in hell that it will be worse than Roland Emmerich’s version. (If it is, there’s another angry rampage comin’.)

Here’s what Legendary’s CEO Thomas Tull said at the time of the official announcement: “Godzilla is one of the world’s most powerful pop culture icons, and we at Legendary are thrilled to be able to create a modern epic based on this long-loved Toho franchise… Our plans are to produce the Godzilla that we, as fans, would want to see. We intend to do justice to those essential elements that have allowed this character to remain as pop-culturally relevant for as long as it has.”

Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Brian Rogers. Yoshimitsu Banno, Kenji Okuhira and Doug Davison will executive produce. No director has yet been announced.
