The Ethan Hawke starring untitled found-footage film grabs itself a new cast member

It wasn’t too long ago that Jake gave you the news about Ethan Hawke signing onto Scott Derrickson’s currently UNTITLED FOUND-FOOTAGE flick. The good folks over at Bloody-Disgusting have just gotten word that the film is close to landing a female co-star with Juliet Rylance. Her previous credits include the film ANIMAL and the stage production of AS YOU LIKE IT (directed by Sam Mendes).

Summit Entertainment picked up the films U.S. distribution rights, it is set to begin shooting next month. Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill wrote the script: Hawke plays a journalist who travels with his family around the country to investigate gruesome murders he turns into books. After he moves his family into a house where another family was murdered, the journo discovers found footage that unveils horrifying clues beyond what caused the original tragedy.

It sounds interesting to me; I know that the genre of found-footage is the ‘in thing’ right now. If done correctly it can be very effective and entertaining. With the talent on board so far, it is looking quite solid. It also has Jason Blum on board as producer; he’s the producer of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films.
