The Exorcist TV series christens Rupert Wyatt for pilot episode

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

That EXORCIST TV series you’re so excited about is moving forward for real now, so it’s too late to break out the holy water and send it back to the hell from whence it came. That said, Fox has at least added one interesting name to the mix: the studio has brought in RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES helmer Rupert Wyatt to direct the pilot episode of the show. Wyatt also directed the Mark Wahlberg drama THE GAMBLER and was at one time meant to direct GAMBIT, starring Channing Tatum as the Marvel superhero, before he jumped ship due to creative differences.

Penned by FANTASTIC FOUR co-writer Jeremy Slater, THE EXORCIST revolves around…

two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.

The series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television, in association with Morgan Creek Productions.
