The Following’s Natalie Zea going Under the Dome

We're creeping closer to finding ourselves trapped "Under the Dome" when the adaptation of the Stephen King novel hits CBS later this month on June 24, but casting on the series is still underway as TV Guide is reporting that "The Following" actress Natalie Zea has been cast in a continuing role in the CBS summer series, beginning in episode 9.

Zea may be best known for her work on "The Following" but the beauty has had a string of television hits with roles on FX's "Justified", "Californication" and "Dirty Sexy Money", as well as the feature film THE OTHER GUYS. With Fox's "The Following" on hiatus, Zea had the time to join the cast of CBS's "Under the Dome" in what is being called a 'continuing' role, but just how 'continuing' her role may be may likely depend on the fate of her "The Following" character, Claire. We'll have to see…

"Under the Dome" executive producer Neal Baer says of Zea's role…

"Once you're stuck under the dome, casting is fairly limited because people can't get in, but that doesn't mean there might not be somebody hiding out. We've cast the beautiful Natalie Zea as a woman who makes an alarming appearance in a few episodes beginning in Episode 9. She plays Maxine, and if you think [the show's big baddie] Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) is trouble, you haven't seen trouble yet. And she'll be connected to a number of our characters."

Sounds intriguing! As for the show itself, "Under the Dome" has the following synopsis:

"UNDER THE DOME" is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

The 13-episode summer series will premiere June 24th on CBS. It stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, Ned Bellamy, and Aisha Hinds.
