The upcoming showdown between two Japanese horror titans SADAKO VS. KAYAKO has already displayed some bonkers approaches to marketing, but this newest development might just be my favorite. Kayako, the drowned ghost from JU-ON/THE GRUDGE has an Instagram account!
The account displays pictures of Kayako, joined by her spectral son Toshio (he of the constant meowing) in their everyday home life and it's frighteningly adorable. I have no idea what combination of insomnia and high fever it took to come up with this idea, but I'd like to shake the hand of whoever invented it.

Directed by Kōji Shiraishi, the film has the following synopsis:
Tina Tamashiro stars as Suzuka Takagi, a girl who carries Kayako's curse after exploring the abandoned house, while Mizuki Yamamoto plays Yūri Kurahashi, a girl caught between Sadako and Kayako.
SADAKO VS. KAYAKO will be haunting theaters in Japan on June 18th.
