The House That Jack Built gets a new trailer, unrated and R releases planned

The House That Jack Built Matt Dillon Lars von Trier

After its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, director Lars von Trier's serial killer film THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT was described with words like "vile", "vomitive", "torturous", and - this is the one that has the biggest chance of putting me off - "pretentious". Those of us who weren't at Cannes will soon have our chance to judge the film for ourselves, as two cuts of the film are set to be released within the next month and a half.

The one I think viewers would most want to see is the unrated director's cut, but that one is getting a very limited release. The director's cut will be playing in theatres for one night only, on Wednesday, November 28th.

Two weeks later, on Friday, December 14th, the cut down R rated version will be released in theatres and on digital platforms.

In anticipation of the releases, a new trailer for THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT has arrived online and can be seen below. We shared the first trailer for the film back in May.

Starring Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman, Bruno Ganz, Riley Keough, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and Sofie Grabol, the film is set in the 1970s and told

from Jack's point of view. He is a highly intelligent killer who has spent a decade perfecting the art of the perfect murder. But as the police begin to close in, he starts taking greater and greater risks in his attempt to create the ultimate artwork.

THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT certainly has my curiosity, I will be checking it out for sure.
