But that's only one schmuck's opinion. It's not to say CONAN THE BARBARIAN isn't going to kick all kinds of ass and tear it up at the Box Office. If that is indeed the case then it seems we'll be seeing a lot more barbaric action in the near future. Scope out a bit of what CONAN star Jason Momoa had to say to Empire Online:
"There's a lot of magic and sorcery in the Conan stories but they wanted to steer clear [of including] too much of that because of Clash Of The Titans. They have a little bit of the sorcery in there with Marique (Rose McGowan) but I'm sure in Conan 2 and 3 there's going to be a lot more of that."
CONAN 2 and 3? Well damn somebody is getting a bit ahead of themselves aren't they? It's no surprise that there are plans for, at least, two more installments in this franchise but let's see how the first one holds up first before we go talking about what's going to be in the next two.
CONAN is out to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his Cimmerian village, (Momoa) going on a quest to find and kill the sadistic warlord responsible. However, this warlord, Khalar Zym (Lang), is on his own quest to find an elusive young woman, Tamara (Nichols), the key to an enigmatic ritual of resurrection. When Conan abducts Tamara and uses her as bait, he is pursued by armies, besieged by monsters and led to a site of primeval magic and human sacrifice.
Along with Momoa the flick also stars Ron Perlman, Rachel Nichols (below), Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard and Said Taghmaoui.
