The Nun continues to creep in new images from Conjuring spin-off

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The demonic nun introduced in THE CONJURING 2 will be back on the big screen in just a few weeks, when director Corin Hardy’s THE NUN is released on September 7th. In the build-up to the film’s debut, sites have been getting their hands on exclusive images that show off the title character and the people she’ll be tormenting. Some of these images can be seen below.

The first image, courtesy of Empire, is an eerie shot of the nun, played by Bonnie Aarons. In the next image from Empire, she’s creeping up on Demian Bichir.

In a picture Entertainment Weekly got the first look at, the nun is creeping on a character played by Taissa Farmiga – who happens to be the sister of THE CONJURING and THE CONJURING 2 star Vera Farmiga.

Scripted by ANNABELLE and ANNABELLE: CREATION writer Gary Dauberman, THE NUN tells the following story:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate.  Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret.  Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

Also in the cast are Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, and Ingrid Bisu.

The film was produced by Peter Safran and CONJURING director James Wan, who also crafted the story of THE NUN with Dauberman. Dauberman, Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Michael Clear, and Todd Williams serve as executive producers.

I’m a fan of the Conjuring Universe, so I look forward to checking this latest entry out next month.
