Even though a trailer for the film was released last August, THE RING sequel RINGS did not end up making its October 28, 2016 release date. And that wasn't the first time RINGS missed its release date, it was the third. The movie was originally supposed to be in theatres on November 13, 2015.

Distributor Paramount Pictures had pushed RINGS back from October to February 3, 2017,and now it looks like – if we all cross our fingers and make a wish – it might actually be sticking with that date. Fourth time's the charm?

The thing that offers us hope that RINGS might actually be playing on screens next month is the fact that Paramount has just released a new poster for the film and it features the February 3 date. Of course, this doesn't mean that another delay won't come out of nowhere at the last minute, but right now it's obvious that the studio is sticking with the announced plan.

Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, RINGS was written by Akiva Goldsman, David Loucka, and Jacob Aaron Estes. It tells the following story:

In Rings, a young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…

Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D’Onofrio star.
