The Rocky Horror reboot taps its Columbia

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Fox's ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW reboot has been casting for quite a while now, and the relatively small part of the glittery tap dancer Columbia has been unfilled for a mysteriously long time… Until now! The role has been filled by Broadway starlet Annaleigh Ashford, perhaps best known outside the theatrical community as Betty Dimello in Masters of Sex.

On the Great White Way, she has played Glinda in Wicked, Margot in the surprisingly good Legally Blonde: The Musical, as well as originating the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. So we know she's a talented singer at least, which is actually good news in this cast mostly picked for their relevance with the teenyboppers. So far, it looks like the only role left to fill is Magenta, Riff-Raff's sister/lover originally portrayed by Patricia O'Quinn. And then we'll be one step closer to pretending this never happened.

In ROCKY HORROR, Brad and Janet stumble into:

The creepy castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and set into motion an evening of floor shows, Transylvanian dance routines, and no lack of touch-a touch-a touching.

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega, stars Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCartan as Brad, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Adam Lambert as Eddie, Staz Nair as Rocky, and Tim Curry as The Criminologist.
