The Walking Dead movie still possible

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The newest season of AMC's THE WALKING DEAD just finished airing and supposedly the ratings weren't great. That said, the powers behind the scenes have many ideas for expanding the series, and evidently, a WALKING DEAD movie isn't out of the question.

Former showrunner Scott Gimple recently spoke to Vulture about the ideas for expanding the scope of THE WALKING DEAD brand and one of the topics that came up was the possibility for a feature film.

Scott Gimple:

That kind of variety, that’s what we’re talking about. All the differences of the ways we tell the story, yeah, what we can feature and all that. There’s a whole universe of possibilities.

This isn't confirmation that there is a feature film in the works, but it sure as hell seems to mean that Gimple and company are by no means against the idea of luring the walkers towards your local multiplex in the near-future.

Would you pay $10+ to see what basically amounts to a slightly longer episode of the series if it was projected on the big screen? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on social media!

Synopsis:

Based on the comic series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. Led by former police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure home. But the pressure each day to stay alive sends many in the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and Rick discovers that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly than the zombies walking among them.
