We’ve known for a while now that the remake of THE WOMAN IN BLACK is getting released on FEBRUARY 10th of next year in the UK, but the day of its release in North America has been a shadowy mystery. CBS Films owns the domestic rights to the Hammer Films product starring Daniel Radcliffe, and now they’ve given the flick a release date. Surprisingly, we’re going to get to see it before the Brits!

THE WOMAN IN BLACK will come out on JANUARY 20, 2012, via BoxOfficeMojo. That pits it against UNDERWORLD 4 3D.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK stars Daniel Radcliffe as Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who travels to a remote village to organize a recently deceased client’s papers. As Kipps works alone in the client’s isolated house, he begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

James Watkins directed THE WOMAN IN BLACK, from a screenplay by Jane Goldman. Shaun Dooley, Cathy Sara, Mary Stockley, Roger Allam, Liz White, Lucy May Barker, Tim McMullan, Alisa Khazanova, Daniel Cerqueira, David Burke and Victor McGuire round out the cast.
