The worlds of Alien and Predator clash again in Prometheus: Fire and Stone

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We usually don't cover comics too much here at AITH, but this is one project that we think a lot of our readers will look forward to picking up.

The expanded universe of ALIEN and PREDATOR is growing even bigger next month, now crossing over into the world of PROMETHEUS (which is already part of the ALIEN universe) with the release of the first issue of Dark Horse Comic’s massive crossover series PROMETHEUS: FIRE AND STONE, continuing after the events of Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS, and coming to comic book stores and releasing digitally on September 10.

Spanning three franchises, four different comic book series and five creative teams, the FIRE AND STONE series begins with Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra's PROMETHEUS: FIRE AND STONE. Ahead of its launch, publisher Dark Horse Comics has released a trailer for the series, which you can peep below.

THR reports that the structure of FIRE AND STONE is such that each of the four series that make up the event (starting with PROMETHEUS: FIRE AND STONE and continuing with ALIENS: FIRE AND STONE, AVP: FIRE AND STONE and PREDATOR: FIRE AND STONE) are published on an eight-week cycle, with a new issue of one of the four series released every two weeks. All four series share concepts, characters and situations, with the storyline resolving in a special issue released after all four series have completed their run. This sounds very cool to me. As a comics fan (and a fan of the films that inspired it) I'll be all over this series.

When the Prometheus never returned from her fateful journey to LV-223, the questions surrounding the origins of man went unanswered. Now a new team of explorers seeks to uncover the dark mystery that holds not only the fate of the original mission, but possibly their own damnation.

Check out the book trailer below and keep an eye out for PROMETHEUS: FIRE AND STONE No. 1, which will be released in comic book stores and digitally on September 10, with ALIENS: FIRE AND STONE released two weeks later.
