Earlier this morning we shared the AFM artwork for Adam Schindler's agoraphobic horror tale SHUT IN, which stars Beth Riesgraf in a tale about a woman who suffers from agoraphobia (the fear of the outside world) whose home is terrorized by a trio of criminals who break in, only to learn that agoraphobia is not her only psychosis. Apparently the title SHUT IN is a popular one right now as The Wrap is reporting that THE RING actress Naomi Watts is now set to star in a new psychological thriller SHUT IN, which will be directed by Farren Blackburn (HAMMER OF THE GODS) from the Blacklist screenplay by Christina Hodson.
While the logline to Blackburn's SHUT IN is being kept under wraps, a perusal of the films IMDB page reveals the following:
A woman discovers a terrifying secret about her troubled son.
It's not much to go on, but with the title SHUT IN I can imagine a few scenerios that could take place. While Blackburn's SHUT IN is labled as a 'psychological thriller' as opposed to Schindler's SHUT IN being 'agoraphobic horror', there's bound to be a lot of confusion between the two films and I expect to hear a title change out of one of them soon enough.
Filming on the Naomi Watts-starring SHUT IN begins in Europe in 2015. Tory Metzger, President of Lava Bear, is overseeing the production of the film for EuropaCorp/Lava Bear.
I wouldn't mind being SHUT IN with Naomi Watts for a few days.
