Recently POLTERGEIST director Gil Kenan took part in a Reddit AMA where he was asked why he would want to tackle a remake of the 1982 classic. He reponded "I am a true fan of 'Poltergeist', and I felt like I could honor the vision and the franchise that made the original as popular as it was. And I wanted to protect it. I know that the reasons that brought me to the table on this film are the ones that will hopefully make the film work for audiences of today." So his intentions are certainly good, even though many feel that this will be another unnecessary remake. Still, after checking out this latest trailer that dropped earlier this morning, I'm curious to see what he can deliver.

POLTERGEIST will be haunting theaters (in 3D!) on May 22. Let's see if it knows what scares us.
