Ti West’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL slapped us upside the head last year and got itself some pretty decent reviews. If you weren’t able to catch the disturbing throwback worry not! It’s hitting DVD and Blu-Ray on February 2nd! And to celebrate it seems HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is taking a very old school route in advertising… It’s hitting VHS!
Well sort of… You see the marketing peeps behind this one just sent the guys over at Dread Central a VHS copy of HOUSE OF THE DEVIL. Unfortunately there’s no details on if this one will be made for sale on VHS but chances are it won’t be considering there’s not much of a market for that anymore… But it’s still damn cool to check out! HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is sporting one of those awkward clam shells and everything! Pretty badass right? Takes me back to a simpler time… Although while it’s cool to check this out I’d much rather pick up the Blu-Ray anyday… Maybe that’s just me. Here’s the synopsis straight from the back of the VHS:
Samantha is a beautiful college sophomore desperate to earn some extra cash for her new apartment. She accepts a mysterious babysitting job at the creaky victorian mansion of Mr. and Mrs. Ulman who soon reveal to her that it is not actually a child they need her to care for but rather Mrs. Ulman’s elderly mother. Against the advice of her best friend, Samantha accepts their offer to take care of the old woman and as a total lunar eclipse darkens the sky it becomes clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life…. Caution: This film contains satanic references and graphic violence.
