While out pimping what seems like an annual LACMA exhibit, Tim Burton broached the subject of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER with the L.A. Times. He's producing the flick, which is currently filming under the directorial eye of Timur Bekmambetov. Thing is, Burton has produced less than 20 titles in the last 32 years, so when he does it, you know it's due to the love of the material. And that certainly seems to be the case with AL:VH. Peep it...

Something hit me inside that said, I just wanted to see that movie, Burton said. I dont know why. I grew up on weird perverse movies and it just seemed like one of those kind of movies that just tapped into my subconscious. I remember going to the Cornell Theater in Burbank where theyd do like three movies for 50 cents and that would have been the kind of movie I would have seen there.

Three movies for 50 cents? F*ck me, I was born in the wrong era!

Scripted by Seth Grahame-Smith (from his own novel), ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER dates back to:

When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the "milk sickness." Only later did he learn that his mother's deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln's father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln.

Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln's life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don't know Abe. Honest.

Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (below), Robin McLeavy, Jimmi Simpson, Rufus Sewell and Alan Tudyk all star in the film, which stakes theaters June 22, 2012.

God that girl is so amazing, with her in this that makes it even better, I hope this will be cool. I haven't read the book, but the premise sounds a little too SyFy Original Films for me, let's hope this rocks! And let's get some more sexy pics of this girl up here ASAP!
