Tim Miller’s Terminator will revisit the events of Terminator 2

Last month, we heard that model / body builder Brett Azar had been offered a role in the new entry in the TERMINATOR franchise that is being directed by DEADPOOL's Tim Miller and produced by series creator James Cameron. That was interesting to hear, because Azar has previous experience working on a TERMINATOR movie; he was the stand-in for the young Arnold Schwarzenegger for the scene in TERMINATOR: GENISYS where the older Arnie disrupts a replay of the beginning of 1984's THE TERMINATOR to battle his younger self. Azar provided the body, while digital trickery put '84 Schwarzenegger's face over his own.

Miller's TERMINATOR sequel is now filming in Spain, and a behind-the-scenes image indicates that Azar's duties on the film will be the same as they were on GENISYS – but this time he's standing in for the Arnold of TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. In this image, Azar is described as a "CGI stand-in" and he's posing with young actor Jude Collie, who is sporting the same haircut Edward Furlong had in T2 because Collie is the CGI stand-in for young John Connor.

Now I'm excited to see what sort of scenes from the T2 era will be featured in this new TERMINATOR.

Azar and Collie join a cast that includes Linda Hamilton as returning heroine Sarah Connor, Natalie Reyes as new heroine Dani, Diego Boneta as Dani's brother, Mackenzie Davis as a soldier-assassin from the future, Gabriel Luna as a Terminator, and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Miller's TERMINATOR doesn't have an official synopsis yet, but we do know that this sequel, which was written by David S. Goyer and Billy Ray, is only acknowledging the events of the first and second films, the ones Cameron was involved with.
