Timecrimes remake signs scribe

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

The last we here wrote about TIMECRIMES (“Los Cronocrimenes”), Jared informed you that United Artists had set its mind to remaking the Spanish-language thriller, about a man who accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour, with all sorts of horrific results. Well, seems as though now they’ve finally hired someone to adapt the tale: Timothy J. Sexton.

Sexton comes with a pretty decent filmography; his last major contribution was on the great CHILDREN OF MEN, which scored him an Oscar nomination. He’s mostly worked on prestigious HBO films like LIVE FROM BAGHDAD and BOYCOTT, so this isn’t your typical sci-fi hack adapting the well-received spookfest.

Meanwhile, “Los Cronocrimenes” continues to travel the festival circuit – Magnolia Pictures carries the distribution rights, and hopefully we’ll get a look at it soon. It was helmed by Nacho Vigalondo, who also stars alongside Karra Elejaide, Candela Fernández, Bárbara Goenaga, and Juan Inciarte.

Another great contributor to CHILDREN OF MEN – Julianne Moore
