We now finally have a trailer for Eli Roth’s gruesome cannibalistic tale THE GREEN INFERNO which is set for its debut in theaters on September 5th via Open Road Films. We've been covering THE GREEN INFERNO for what feels like forever now so it's nice to finally get a peek at Roth's twisted little film in action. While the trailer doesn't offer much of anything as far as plot goes, it still hits all the rights notes as it creates an unsettling and creepy atmosphere. If you've been following this one as closely as we have then you'll know exactly what's going on here—someone is about to become a happy meal! Check out the trailer below and see what you think!

Here's a synopsis:

How far would you go for a cause you believe in? In horror master Eli Roth’s terrifying new film, a group of college students take their humanitarian protest from New York to the Amazon jungle, only to get kidnapped by the native tribe they came to save: a tribe that still practices the ancient rite of cannibalism, and has a healthy appetite for intruders.

Directed by Eli Roth, THE GREEN INFERNO stars Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, Magda Apanowicz, and Sky Ferreria.

Didnt give too much away...

Looking forward to this one... Its gonna be the one that either puts Eli Roth over the top as a true master of horror or another pretender.... The locations and cinematography looked pretty awesome...

Teaser didn't do much

Need to see a little more before I get excited, teaser didn't do much for me. However, I will still be in the theater around opening day to catch this one. I liked Roth's work so far.

I have a close Peruvian friend who will be oh so fucken thrilled to see his country presented this way (I'm being sarcastic). Then again, The Green Inferno is simply a killer hillbilly movie occurring in an exotic locale. I won't be seeing The Green Inferno. But, I give the trailer two compliments. Someone has the business sense to be subtle in the trailer. By subtlety, the promo creates the unknown that the audience's imagination fills in with all sorts of horrible things. Also, someone has

Someone has the business sense to be subtle in the trailer. By subtlety, the promo creates the unknown that the audience's imagination fills in with all sorts of horrible things. Also, someone has the sense to mention the supposedly previously unfilmed tribe. This move was common in the cannibal exploitation movies that The Green Inferno imitates. Supposedly, wild "savages" appear in the film and the film has a disturbing veracity thereby.
The Green Inferno looks like torture porn, IMO. I won't be seeing it. If torture films are your thing, okay. Roth is one of the best in the sub-genre.
