Trailer for Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones possesses you

10.17.2013by: Kevin Woods

While this Halloween season marks the first year in the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise since its start without an annual installment, we've known for a while that we had two new films coming our way in 2014 with the direct sequel PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 coming late in the year and the Latino-themed spinoff PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES hitting theaters on January 3, 2014. Today we have our first look at THE MARKED ONES with the first trailer for the Christopher Landon-helmed flick.

I've dug the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series so far (yes, even P.A. 4...c'mon, it wasn't altogether horrible!) and while I completely understand that people are as sick of this franchise as they are of found footage films in general, I still think this spinoff looks decent and it'll probably do pretty damn good bank in theaters, which would be par for the course with this franchise. Check out the trailer for PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES below and let us know what you think!

The film was written and directed by Christopher Landon and features a cast that includes Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens and Frank Salinas. Look for it in theaters January 3, 2014.

Personally I welcome any horror film as long the creators know what they are doing and make a decent movie. I am a very open person and will watch almost anything. I actually like the PA series, not so much PA4 but just like Kevin says its not as bad of people make it to believe. The type of people that are beotching about the found footage format are normally the people that only care about only blood/guts and no care what so ever on acting or storyline and also noticed some hate for the format because it gets more attention then other traditional horror films. Obviously the found footage format is effective because it seems to make more money than most horror films. Also just because of one movie in with the same format was terrible (like Devil Inside) doesn't mean that future releases of the same format will be garbage. Sorry for ranting but I just wanted to make a point. Yes the PA films aren't masterpieces but at least they are decent films, I think all the hatred needs to be directed at movies that deserve it like movies made by Uwe Boll for an example. Anyways as for the upcoming PA films I will definitely be there but I will be crossing my fingers hoping they make them better than PA4.
