Tremors TV series starring Kevin Bacon not picked up by SyFy

Director Vincenzo Natali's Syfy TREMORS mini-series starring Kevin Bacon returning to the role of Valentine McKee has been officially canceled. I know, it sucks. Big time. Bacon brought forth the bad news over on Instagram writing:

Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!

As many of you know, the show's pilot episode has already been filmed so there may be a slight possibility some other network (or Netflix) may still pick up the series. But that seems like a stretch at this point. All the same, keep your fingers crossed and we'll let you know if we hear anything further on the series.

Synopsis:

25 years after Valentine McKee defeated the Graboids, and the man who once seemed destined for greatness is anything but. He’s a small-town hero whose glory days faded away with the monsters he braved and whose family moved on when he couldn’t let go of the past. And yet McKee’s hoping that everything’s about to change. His grown daughter coming to visit on the heels of her graduation could signal a permanent homecoming. But no sooner than she arrives, strange and terrifying events make it clear the town is in danger. Led by McKee, the gang from Perfection begins to uncover the spine-chilling truth of what’s hunting them. With the future looking darker than ever, these small-town heroes must shake off the dust of years to see what they’re made of.

The abandoned pilot was written by Andrew Miller and starred Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Emily Tremaine, John Ellison Conlee, Megan Ketch, Shiloh Fernandez, Toks Olagundoye, Hunter Parrish, Ebonée Noel, Brandon Jay McLaren, Haley Tju, and P.J. Byrne.

Time to save the day yet again, Netflix!
